Solar Panel

Solar panels absorb the sunlight as a source of energy to generate electricity or heat.Solar panels are devices that convert light into electricity. They are called “solar” panels because most of the time, the most powerful source of light available is the Sun, called Sol by astronomers. Some scientists call them photovoltaics which means, basically, “light-electricity.”

A solar panel is a collection of solar cells. Lots of small solar cells spread over a large area can work together to provide enough power to be useful. The more light that hits a cell, the more electricity it produces.>

When photons hit a solar cell, they knock electrons loose from their atoms. If conductors are attached to the positive and negative sides of a cell, it forms an electrical circuit. When electrons flow through such a circuit, they generate electricity. Multiple cells make up a solar panel, and multiple panels (modules) can be wired together to form a solar array. The more panels you can deploy, the more energy you can expect to generate.

Photovoltaic technology converts sunlight into electrical energy in a direct way as opposed to the more circuitous approach of solar thermal technologies that capture sunlight to heat a gas or fluid and subsequently use heat engines to generate electricity.

  • Since you will be meeting some of your energy needs with the electricity your solar Panel has generated, your energy bills will drop.
  • Solar Panel systems generally don’t require a lot of maintenance. You only need to keep them relatively clean, so cleaning them a couple of times per year will do the job
  • Solar Panel will be accessible as long as we have the sun, therefore sunlight will be available to us for at least 5 billion years when according to scientists the sun is going to die.
